Specializing in environmental mapping, AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS offers new methods and technologies to provide precision baseline assessments and monitoring of coral reef environments. AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS has integrated the state-of-the-art technologies of real-time survey grade GPS (with real-time centimeter accuracies), underwater laser metering, phased-array scanning sonar, high resolution digital underwater color photogrametry, and powerful 3D visualizing software to provide precise measuring and accurate documentation of coral reef environments. Our methods employ NOAA, USCOE, and IHO approved GPS (Trimble) and hydrographic technologies (Odom Echoscan and Coasal Oceanographics HYSWEEP), providing real-world geo-referenced bathymetry at a reported output resolution of 1 centimeter. Our photogrametry provides digital high resolution (5 million pixels/inch) color images that are scaled and geo-referenced at centimeter accuracies. Scientist and resource managers can visually study, measure, and confirm the findings from high resolution color graphic results. Our services also include precision mapping of sedimentation and sediment migration, and of water quality parameters such as salinity, turbidity, and temperature as a means of documenting influences of land based pollutants.
