Dubai - The Palms Beach Hotel and Spa is supporting global efforts to preserve the underwater world. 

From Kuwait, The Palms Beach Hotel and Spa was the biggest sponsor and the main pillar for Earth Day celebrationt, raising a slogan “no for the pollution”.

Dive in to Earth is an international Earth Day celebration that takes place on April 22 each year to create and promote active conservation of coral reefs, oceans and raises public awareness of marine conservation.

The Palms Beach Hotel and Spa with its Dive Centre and his team, triggered by this environmental cause, held an event that brought close interest and enthusiasm of its 30 guests who jointed the hotel’s efforts and participates to clean up the beach. 

The hotel organised two boat trips to different destinations where divers cleaned local reefs from trash, metal and underwater traps. 

Officials said 300 kg of trash, metal, plastic ropes and bottles were collected and removed.

Since its establishment in 2000, the event has broadened people’s knowledge of Earth Day to include the education and conservation of our planet’s aquatic ecosystems getting the public to actively protect of the underwater is increasingly important because many of Earth’s aquatic environments, especially coral reefs are quickly degrading.

Over the past six years, Dive in to Earth has become a big success. 

Nearly 300,000 participants from 103 countries worldwide have taken part in.

1,500 dive in activities removing 140 tonnes of trash from coastal areas, educating and inspiring children to care for water resources, supporting coral reef areas.

The Palms Beach Hotel & Spa and its Management seeks the environment preservation and appeals the necessity of its protection, said an official.

Aliaa Hassan, marketing & PR manager, said the Palms Management also maintains always keeping up the international events and the localism calling for the environment preservation with all its activities.
