Committee Caborroje§os Pro Salud y Ambiente, Inc. (CCPSA) is a non-profit corporation in good standing, registered at the Puerto Rico_s State Department on September 1991 and certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 corporation. The Corporation was established with the mission of educating about conservation and environmental protection and to promote a sustainable development through the ecoturism and the preservation of the natural and cultural resources of Cabo Rojo and the Southwest. The organization has eleven years of experience on successful community activities and volunteer work that include environmental and cultural festivals, beach clean-up campaigns, research studies, sustainable development efforts, recycling campaigns, talks, seminars and activities in schools. In 1999, it received the Puerto Rico Forestry Conference Public Awareness Award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).During the past years the CCPSA has received the sponsorship of various partners for several projects:, , -the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation: for the rehabilitation of coral reef colonies in various locations in the southwest of PR, -a sponsorship from the Legislative Commission of the Senate of Puerto Rico, and the PR Community Foundation: to promote the development of environmentally conscious small enterprises through entrepreneurial education and technical assistance, and by offering a 30 hour university course on _How to Start or Expand a Small Business._, -the Procter & Gamble Fund to support more than 70 single mothers, providing them short courses such as vocational courses (ej. How to Ensemble Vertical Blinds, Bakery Courses, Catering), entrepreneurial education (ej. _How to Start a Small Business from Home_), and empowerment workshops (ej. A Self Image 10 Day Workshop_) , -the Citibank, CRA Office, to support 10 non-profit organizations in the Southwest, in the establishment of ecoturism projects that can generate profits and jobs, while protecting our coastal resources, as an alternative of self-sufficiency. ,
