Mathare North Youth Organisation is a community based organisation that operates in the slum area of Nairobi. We discovered that the Nairobi River which passes throug our community is intoxicated by domestic and Industrial refuse dumping. Unfortunately people down streem continue to use it's waters domestically and for their animal hence there is great Danger to the human health and the marine life down coast i.e.Indian Ocean. This prompted the organisation to start a special program dubbed "YES" to mean Youth Environmental Service Program. To look for ways of how best the situation could be reversed. The team has been working hard but due to limitations in terms of resourceswe have not been able to live to our expectations.This is a challange to all our partners if one can assist the we will be more than grateful.
