YACL is a local NGO founded on 02/02/2000 by a group of citizens in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia concerned at the lack of data regarding the state of the Provinces marine and coastal resources. YACL is dedicated to furthering sustainable management of natural resources. Activities to date have mainly concentrated on capacity building, especially training in coral reef survey and monitoring (with support from The David & Lucille Packard Foundation, UNEP EAS/RCU and PADI Project Aware), and data collection/analysis. YACL took part in the WRI/ICLARM Reef at Risk SEA project in 2000/2001. Other current YACL activities include working towards sustainable managment of two small MPAs and facilitating community empowerment activities.
