Obama Administration Launches New Ocean Policy
On July 19, the Obama Administration unveiled a new National Ocean Policy, the culmination of a year-long process that started when the President convened the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force in June of 2009. The new policy is the first comprehensive ocean policy in the United States, and it aims to better protect, maintain, and restore the countryís oceans and coasts, as well as the Great Lakes. Photographs Raise Awareness at the Puerta Maya Cruise Terminal
Each year, 1.2 million cruise ship tourists arrive in Cozumel, Mexico, at the Puerta Maya Cruise Terminal. Now these tourists will be greeted by a large photographic display that raises awareness about coral reefs and the need to protect them. This CORAL-funded project is a now a permanent feature of the cruise ship terminal. Read the story » |

Join CORAL at BLUE Ocean Film Festival
BLUE Ocean Film Festival is a global film festival and conservation summit for underwater filmmakers and marine researchers, accompanied by a community festival that shares the best of the film competition with the public. CORAL Appoints New Mesoamerican Regional Manager
We are excited to announce that Kenneth Johnson, CORAL's Mexico Field Manager, has been selected to fill the newly created role of CORAL Mesoamerican Regional Manager. In this new position, Johnson will be able to provide greater regional oversight and support to all of CORAL's programs in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Read the story » |
