Solomon Islands - The Second Ministerial Meeting for the Coral Triangle Initiative which took place last week at Gizo, Western Province, was described as a "huge success."

A statement from the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Meteorology says a number of major decisions were made and endorsed at the meeting.

These include the location and structure of a regional secretariat and a joint communiqué on climate change, which will assist Coral triangle countries in achieving their objective of safeguarding coral reefs, fisheries and food security for their people.
