CORAL Attends the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival
At the 2009 San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, filmmakers screened thirty-five films from around the world to an estimated 3,300 filmgoers. CORAL sponsored the festival again this year as a community partner. Our staff and volunteers were on hand Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday to talk to supporters, make new friends, give away CORAL calendars, watch films, and enter people in our raffle.
Congratulations to Jean Stringer from Carlsbad, California, and Alexandra Sangmeister from San Francisco, who each won a copy of Reef by Scubazoo. And big thanks to communications assistant Joanna Solins, program associate Candace Leong, and mother-daughter volunteer team extraordinaire, Lauren and Riva Kahn, for staffing the CORAL table throughout the event.
The San Francisco Ocean Film Festival presents many films that are not otherwise available to the public. The films are intended to not only entertain the audience, but also educate and encourage active participation in ocean conservation.
