Miami, FL - Andrew Baker, a scientist at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, has launched a project to study the relationship between reef-building coral polyps (a relative of jellyfish) and their symbiotic algae. He believes that heat-tolerant strains of symbiotic algae may be able to help corals adapt to climate change.
