Description:

With funding support from NOAA, NWF's Climate Change and Wildlife Program has produced a multi-media DVD, narrated by Jack Hanna, to help raise awareness of the effects of global climate change and other serious environmental problems on coral reefs around the world, and to encourage divers, snorkelers, tourists, and other wildlife and marine enthusiasts to join in efforts to protect these dwindling resources.

The DVD has touch-screen capability and uses video, audio and still images to
provide an engaging, easy-to-understand look at the splendor of coral reefs, from the many ocean species they support to the benefits they provide for people. The DVD also highlights the devastation reefs are experiencing due to human activities, including pollution, harmful fishing practices, coastal development, and the emerging threat of global warming and associated climate change.

Finally, it provides ideas about what people can do to help protect reefs, such as volunteering with organizations that help clean up coastal areas and encouraging responsible policies and programs to reduce the pollution that is contributing to climate change.
