Handbook 4: Marine Turtles & Terrapins: Integrated Coastal and Estuarine Management: Where the River Meets the Sea
This series of handbooks on integrated coastal and estuarine area management has been compiled so as to provide guidelines and management strategies for better coastal and estuarine land use planning. The handbooks are meant to help all users of coastal and estuarine areas in managing and utilising such areas and their natural resources wisely. The handbooks stress the need to integrate environmental considerations into specific human activities, land use activities and related issues.
The target audiences for the handbooks are relevant government agencies, planners and developers, fish farmers, fisherment's associations, coastal communities, farmers, plantation owners and the general public. The fourth in the series covers marine turtles and terrapins: institutional and legal frameworks, importance of coastal and riverine areas, threats to survival and recommendations for integrated management.
