Hoi Ha Wan

An extensive overview of corals of Hong Kong. Sections include: What is coral? How Coral Reefs are Fomed? and descriptions of the environments of the different areas in Hong Kong where coral can be found including management problems that have threatened Hong Kong's corals. An section on the history of the Lime Kiln industry, a section on conservation and legislation. Intent is to raise awareness of coral in Hong Kong, the marine park and the need for conservation: "It is envisaged that the hoi Ha Wan Marine Park will act as a demonstration "model" for the designation of further local marine protected areas...Hoi Ha Wan is planned to change attitudes towards Hong Kong's sea and the life, especially corals, it supports."
