The University of Guam Marine Laboratory (UOGML) is a research unit that serves the U.S.-affiliated islands of Micronesia, including Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), The Federated States of Micronesia (Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae, and Pohnpei), the Republic of Belau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The UOGML, as the only U.S. marine research station in the tropical western Pacific that includes a modern research laboratory, has continued to take on a more important role in providing access to marine communities of the region. No other U.S. facility provides both a reasonably well-equipped laboratory and easy access to the diverse flora and fauna of the tropical western Pacific. , , ,
