Walhi is a forum of NGO, Nature Lovers Groups and People Organisation and it was established on October 20, 1980. To date, Walhi have 429 constituents, social and environmental NGOs and people organizations that are distributed all over Indonesia. Walhi members autonomously establish Regional Walhi Executives. At the moment there are 24 Regional Executives in 24 provinces. Once every three years we organise a national gathering, where every Walhi member should attend to determine the program for the next three years, choose national committee members such as the National Executive Director, National Council Dewan Nasional) and National Member Assembly (Mahkamah Anggota Nasional). , , Generally, Walhi_s vision is to reinstate the people_s sovereignty in natural resources management in a fair and sustainable manner. Walhi believes that the people possess indigenous rights to forest areas and proven through local knowledge and wisdom that they have managed their natural resources in a sustainable manner. ,
