2006 Seafood Watch Cards Now Available, 01/01/06
This is just one of many steps CORAL is taking to ensure consumers are educated on the importance of making sustainable choices. Our partnership will allow us to distribute regional and national Seafood Watch guides to over 10,000 of our members, supporters and partner communities each year.
Sustainability means more than just staying informed. It involves taking action. The choices you make when purchasing or eating seafood may ultimately affect the very survival of those species and in turn the health of our coral reefs and other marine environments. Increased consumer demand for seafood is depleting fish stocks around the world and harming the viability of the oceans. Today, nearly 70% of the world's fisheries are fully fished or over-fished. By making smart choices in the seafood you buy, you support good management of healthy and sustainable fisheries.
Foodies from around the world know the San Francisco Bay Area (our home base) is a great place to eat. Love seafood and want to feel good about eating it too? Then try some of these Bay Area restaurants that serve sustainable choices:
Cafe Maritime (San Francisco)
Chez Panisse (Berkeley)
Farallon (San Francisco)
Passionfish Restaurant (Pacific Grove)
