Tropical Marine Plant Conservation Working Group of the Institution of Tropical Marine Biology and Conservation conducts researches on biogeography, vertical distribution, seasonal variation, and morphological and molecular phylogeny and taxonomy of seaweeds and seagrasses in consideration of the conservation of coral reefs of the world. Current projects include a survey of seasonal variation of distribution in Okinawa-zima Islands, Miyako Islands, and Yaeyama Islands of the Ryukyu archipelago, Japan.
