Hawaii Hotel Reef Stewardship Project
The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) invites you and your hotel property to join us in a statewide project to involve Hawaii's hospitality sector in new efforts to promote sustainable tourism and reduce local threats to Hawaii's coral reefs. By keeping reefs healthy locally, we ensure that they are both attractive for visitors and better able to withstand broad-scale threats like global climate change.
Hawaii's hotels are already leaders in environmental sustainability, so we have developed this project to explore new niches and recognize those who engage in efforts beyond the standard water and energy reduction programs. That's why we'd like to hear from you. What is your hotel already doing to increase sustainability? How can we help you to reach the next level?
Please help us plan the most effective strategies by taking our hotel survey »
MAHALO to the nearly 30 hotels that have submitted their survey! The survey period remains open, so it's not too late to join this effort. Congratulations to the two hotels that won the Respecting Coral Reefs sign in our random drawing for submitting their surveys early on - Halekulani on Oahu and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on Hawai'i Island!
Those who join our efforts will be listed on our website, www.HawaiiMarineTourism.org
